Resources Are Available to Those Who Have Suffered Loss of Employment

            It is inevitable that during our lives we will suffer financial reversals.  For people living paycheck to paycheck, an interruption in income can be devastating.  Whether this is a result of loss of employment, illness, or injury, help is available to people for people suffering financial crises.  Though I wrote Battered and Broke: How To Make Ends meet When Your Workers’ Compensation Claim is Denied for people who have suffered work-related injuries or illnesses, the resources described in the book are accessible to anyone who has suffered a financial tragedy.  Council 13 of AFSCME (American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees) has prepared a valuable guidebook for those who have suffered a job loss: “When The Paycheck Stops: An AFSCME Survival Guide to Unemployment.”
